Introduction
The need for colouring of DAP fertilizer arose from the fact that imported DAP was uniformly black in colour. This colouration of the DAP granules most probably was the result of certain organic impurities in the rock phosphate and hence in the phosphoric acid. Additionally, colouring of fertilizer gives an identifying product appeal; at the same time eliminate any fear in the minds of end-user about possible adulteration.

Colouring of fertilizers can be done in two methods:

1. Surface Colouring Agent

Surface colouring-cum-Anticaking Agent ICOL-50 (series) gives attractive colour for separate identity to fertilizer with improved anticaking property. It can be sprayed at dryer or scruber at 0.08 to 0.12% by weight level by spray nozzles, colour of output fertilizer will be same and uniform irrespect of change in colour of raw material input with different source. Highly concentrated liquid will help to stop the use of powder an anticaking cum colouring agent. Powder crents pollution problem for surrounding plants and area.

2. Body Colouring Agent

The Company with its expertise in the field of speciality chemicals has developed exclusive Dedusting & Colouring Agents for DAP Fertilizer.

These products are Free flowing Liquids at ambient temperatures and can be easily dosed through any metering /gear pump.

Colour is dispersed across the entire body of the Fertiliser and thus offers a permanent colour to it.

It does not in any way interfere with the physical properties of the fertilizer. It is effective at the dosage rate of just 1000 ppm. It offers a distinct brand identity to the Fertilizer.

Its better binding properties ensures less dust formation at the time of granulation.

No toxic effects, safe to handle.

It gives a dark grey body colour to DAP Fertilizer, as well as it works as granulating Aid so that dust formation can be reduced to a great extent in the granulizer. When granules are of uniform size and powdering has less available exposed open area for moisture, absorption is also less.

So, good granule automatically protects itself from moisture absorption and hence BC4513 indirectly works as an Anticaking agent-cum-granulating Aid.

For Body Colouring of DAP we offer two types of colouring agents:

1. Liquid Form

2. Powder Form

Dosing of Colouring Agent

Dosage Requirements
BC4513 (Liquid) is dosed at around 0.25% level along with BP-4513 (Powder) to obtain the required black shade of DAP. From number plant trials we have concluded that a dosage of about 0.4% gives the desired shade of Black.

The above dosage is based on an average as each plant is unique and no set dosage is available. Please contact us for a technical recommendation specific to your plant. Based on your plant specification we will calculate you dosage requirement. This service is available at no extra cost.
